How long will it take me to open an account online?

Generally, it should take no longer than 10 minutes to complete an application online.

What information do I need to apply for an account online?

You will need your Social Security Number, valid ID (Driver’s License, U.S. Passport, or State ID), valid address (previous address if you have lived at your current address less than two years) and a valid email address registered to your name. If your application will include a co-applicant, your co-applicant will also need to supply this information.

How can I fund my account?

You can transfer funds from an account at Texas Trust, or you can fund your account through your debit or credit card. You can also choose to fund your account at a later time and make a deposit through Mobile Deposit or in a branch after opening an account.

Can I open a joint account with another person?

Yes. You may add a co-applicant to your application. If your application includes a co-applicant, your co-applicant will also need to supply a Social Security Number, valid ID (Driver’s License, U.S. Passport, or State ID), valid address and a valid email address registered to their name.

How old do I need to be to open an account online?

To open an account online you must be at least 18 years or older.

I don’t understand why I have to become a member, I just want to open an account.

The advantage to being a credit union member over being a bank customer is that as a member, you are also part owner of the credit union. You are actually part of a not-for-profit cooperative group of members who each own one share. This means the profits go back to you - the owners - in the form of low fees and more competitive rates.
